The ArtServe Awards celebrate the many ways creativity enriches the life of the church. 

They honour individuals whose artistic gifts and faithful service have inspired others through the years with their use of the arts to help people grow in their faith. They can be for long service, for a special occasion – for example as a thank you for organising an event – or for someone who has used the arts to encourage others to develop their faith. From flower arranging, crafts, and creative writing to music, dance, technical support, and innovative use of technology in worship, every creative gift is valued and celebrated.

The award comes in the form of a specially designed certificate. The long service version features an embossed medallion - silver for 25 or more years service, and gold for those who have served the church for at least 40 years.

Our awards are intended to be presented via the local church to anyone who has served the church through the arts in any capacity, whether through music, dance & drama, visual arts, or creative writing. They may have served more than one church and they may have served in more than one capacity.

Certificates are inscribed by our own calligrapher and cost £15.00 each.

How to apply

You can either use the postal application form or send the necessary information by email. Please submit your application at least three weeks prior to the presentation date. If you require a certificate more urgently than this, please contact the Awards administrator. 

Please provide the following information for each certificate, making sure you give the exact words to be inscribed:

About the award

• Type of certificate required – silver or gold (long service awards only)
• Name of recipient
• Years of service – if appropriate (long service awards only)
• Reason for the award (citation) – maximum 10 words
• Name of the person presenting the award
• Date of presentation

Delivery address

• Name and full address of the person to whom the certificate should be sent
• Contact telephone number and/or email address.

Apply by email

Please make sure you include all the required information, checking that the wording is exactly as it should appear on the certificate, and send your application to the Awards administrator.

Publicity

Please mention ArtServe awards in any publicity relating to the presentation. If the recipient is happy for us to publish a report and/or photographs, please send these to the Awards administrator.

Data Protection

By applying for an ArtServe award you agree to the citation being listed on this website and/or in our magazine. Your personal information will be retained by Artserve’s awards administrator for a period of no more than two years, and will not be used for any other purpose. We will not add you to any mailing list or contact you again unless it is directly in connection with awards administration.
